"THE STUDENT PRINCE"
SSAOS 1937 production
The music of Sigmund Romberg
Book and Lyrics by Dorothy Donnelly
SSAOS Production at Queen's Theatre, South Shields, 22nd - 27th February, 1937
Romberg's "THE STUDENT PRINCE" had a huge career on stage and on film in America., but in other countries it made its impression through the most popular of its songs - the rousing student's Drinking Song ("Drink, Drink, Drink"), the rich hymn to youth ("Golden Days"), the celebrated Serenade ("Overhead the Moon is Beaming") and the evening's big hit love duet "Deep in my Heart, Dear" all disseminated to the world's cinema audiences by the voice of Mario Lanza - rather than as a stage show.,
