Scheherazade in 'The Arabian Nights'  is telling  the story of Ali Baba and the 40 thieves and how Ali is sweeping the streets of the city........... 

...............in "Tin Pan Ali"  we are seeing Ali in downtown 1930's Chicago. It's a pacy gangster-filled adaptation of the legend, with Ali, a street-sweeper, who spies Carooni's mugs stashing their loot and, unable to resist the temptation, steals it to take home to his girl-friend.

The gangsters discover the theft and, disguised as street-sweepers, try to catch Ali. Thanks to a hilarious, laugh-a-minute script and a brilliant big-band score, the plot unravels itself to make sure that everyone has a happy ending!
